The Caribbean Hotel Associaton's annual awards program seeks to honor and advance best practices in the Caribbean hospitality industry. The awards bring honor to the winner, their company, their destination, and the Caribbean hotel and tourism industry at large.
Caribbean Employee of the Year
and Caribbean Supervisor of the Year
The two awards were established to honor outstanding examples of excellence in the hospitality workforce. Hoteliers are asked to nominate exemplary staff members for these recognitions. Nominees for both categories are evaluated in two areas - hospitality skills and technical competence. In addition, nominees in the supervisor category are also evaluated on their supervisory skills. American Express Caribbean Environmental Hotel of the Year
This award recognizes the commitment made to sustainable tourism by an exemplary Caribbean hotel, through their record of responsible environmental and social performance. Nominees are reviewed on their individual performance against established criteria, not in comparison to other properties nominated. Award information and nomination form.
Caribbean Hotelier of the Year
The prestigious award recognizes superior hotel management, as well as the ability to nurture the intricate elements that lay the foundation of success, not only for a specific property, but the Caribbean hospitality industry at large. The annual tribute is sponsored by Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell and American Express. The winner is honored by his peers with the Golden Conch Award at a special award dinner. Each year's winner of the Golden Conch award adds to the high standards for which the award has become renowned.
Caribbean Hotel Association Allied Member of the Year
The award recognizes the dedication of an outstanding CHA allied member whose work is testament to his commitment to the region’s tourism industry and CHA. Candidates are nominated by their peers and are evaluated on their efforts in the following key areas: volunteer work with CHA; membership development; fundraising activities; advocacy activities on behalf of CHA; motivation of others; work with national hotel associations; and involvement in regional tourism activities, among others.
Caribbean Hotel Association Executive of the Year
CHA also recognizes anually the professionalism in association management of an outstanding national hotel association executive in the small and large hotel association categories.
