Environmental / Social Outreach Internship – 4 weeks between July & December 2010 on convenient dates for you
- Air Ticket up to US$1,000 provided
- Mexican Visa Contribution of US$100
- Stipend of US$100 per week
- Ground Transportation in Mexico – return to Cancun International Airport and from House to and from place of work
- Accommodation, Food, Beverage
Your work-base will be www.haciendatresrios.com on the Rivera Maya, Mexico.

Scope of the internship provided by Yucatan Holidays to include:
- Working on the floor in various departments of Hacienda Tres Rios, Rivera Maya
- Attending staff orientation & on-going training wherever possible
- Learning Service Quality control practices
- Working with the Sustainable Practices Division in a variety of roles
- Potential to live within a Mayan community and work with KANCHE project
Requirements
Be a Caribbean National employed at a CHTA member-property that wishes to begin or continue your sustainable & responsible tourism journey and will utilize the skills and knowledge gained in a practical manner on return to your own community & property

2010 Applicants Notification: Thank-you for your application which is now in process. Please expect an email notification from CHTAEF by April 30, 2010.We will not have information for you before this date.
EXISTING / PREVIOUS SCHOLARS: We remind all existing academic scholars who would like to be considered for continued funding in 2011 they must download, complete and submit a re-application form after November 15, 2010. Similarly, any previous CHTAEF scholar must complete the reapplication form.
CHTAEF currently provides the following types of awards to worthy Caribbean nationals who demonstrate a strong commitment to the industry and the potential for future success:
- Academic
- Professional Development
- Tourism & Hospitality Teacher
- Environmental Internships – 3-months academic & 1-month industry personnel
- Work Experience placements
Value of Scholarships
Academic, Professional Development and Teacher scholarships are for tuition costs only. Please read the Financial Aid paragraph on the Academic, Professional Development & Teacher Info-Sheet along with the Tuition costs section of the application forms carefully.
Successful Internship/ Work Experience applicants will receive a stipulated airfare contribution – shown on the relevant application form. This is NOT available to academic, professional development and teacher applicants.
CHTAEF Scholarships range from $ 500 to $5,000 with the addition of the Virgin Holidays Scholarship at a value of $10,000. The other Corporate Scholarships range from $500 to $7,000. There is no special application form for these corporate scholarships; awards are made on the merit of the application and required criteria. Individuals may only apply for one type of award per year (multiple applications will not be considered). You may indicate which corporate award you wish to be considered for by printing this boldly on page 1 of your application form.
