Derlon Felix
Johnson & Wales University provided some of the most memorable and enlightening experiences of my life. Recently for my final semester I completed a three month study abroad trip to Switzerland (& Europe) which has broadened my scope of hospitality and tourism trends, operations and culture. The trip could not have a better ending, as I flew back to the Charlotte campus for my commencement ceremonies (graduating Summa Cum Laude may I add!)

At present, I am about to pursue my final stint (internship) in the US before I head back home to begin working in the industry or immediately attend Graduate school.

The CHTA Mentorship Program has also allowed me to connect with an abundance of new and former acquaintances, by giving advice to nationals about funding, career paths and industry related. I am happy that from my advice many of my mentees have decided to aggressively pursue their careers in hospitality and tourism.

As this chapter in my life is about to close, there are so many organizations, colleagues and friends that have been pivotal in ensuring that I pursued my dreams. I give my honest gratitude to CHTA and Louise John for not only the tangible assistance, but the continued support, inspiration, loyalty and leadership.
