How my Scholarship has benefited me.
On the day that I was awarded a scholarship to the attend The Culinary Institute of America, I was overwhelmed with joy. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Realizing that my dream would become a reality, I began making preparations for my trip.
I completed 7 weeks of Baking and Pastry Comprehensive, which included classes in Basic Baking, Basic Bread Baking, Advanced Bread Baking, Cafe Breakfast Pastries, Classical Cakes, Tortes and Tarts, Individual Pastries and Artisan Chocolates.
Although my course was short, I can say I left the CIA with a lot more knowledge skills and of course friends from all around the world that I would ever have imagined.
Special thanks to The Caribbean Hotel Foundation for playing a big part in improving my life both professionally and personally. This opening in my career has placed me one step closer in reaching my goal in becoming a Pastry Chef.
