Scholarships Available
Virgin Holidays Tourism/Hospitality Management Scholarship
is open to nationals of Virgin Holidays Caribbean destinations and the course chosen must have a sustainable tourism element and be a degree course. US$10,000 per year for 3 years.

Interval International
Interval International offers a US$7,000 annual scholarship to an outstanding Caribbean national.
Interval International also offers a further US$7,000 annually for one or more Caribbean students.
Interval International scholarships can be awarded to Academic or Professional Development courses of study. In addition, Interval International offers US$16,000 annually in general scholarship funds.

Yucatan Holidays Scholarships
2 x $5,000 scholarships for academic studies to include a sustainable, responsible environmental impact component. Available to nationals of Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Latin America that are working or studying within the Caribbean region.

3 x 120-hour General Internships Available to Caribbean or Latin American nationals that are working in a CHTA member property anywhere in the Caribbean as a member of line staff or a junior supervisor.
2 x 300-hour Academic Internships Available to any Caribbean national who is in the second or third year of their Bachelors program and ready to work their 300-hour internship with project report component.
Internship Scope:
- Working on the floor in various departments of Yucatan Holidays properties as a staff member
- Learning Service Quality procedures
- Attending Educational Environmental training
- Learn & Participate in reforestation programs
- Collaborate as a guide in eco-park walks
- Participate in creation of eco-programs for children
- Participate in outreach to support the local community
- Working with the Sustainable Practices Division in a variety of roles
- Potential to live within a Mayan community and work with KANCHE project (www.kanche.org)

FirstCaribbean
FirstCaribbean International Bank offers two annual US$5,000 scholarships to young professionals pursuing associates or bachelors degrees in tourism or hospitality related fields - this can be from a broad spectrum of study to include but not limited to management, culinary, engineering, IT, environment, events etc.

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide
STARWOOD Hotels & Resorts Worldwide offers an annual US$9,000 scholarship for Professional Development. This scholarship is targeted at industry employees who are taking professional courses at recognized institutions to develop their technical skills and leadership abilities. Starwood operates in the following Caribbean destinations: Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, St. Maarten/St. Martin, with St. Lucia projected to open in 2009.

Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association
The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) is a not-for-profit trade organization composed of 15 member cruise lines operating more than 100 vessels in Floridian, Caribbean and Latin American waters. Created in 1972, the FCCA’s mandate is to provide a forum for discussion on legislation, tourism development, ports, tour operations, safety, security and other cruise industry issues.
US$15,000 Masters Natural Resource Management or Environmental Management
FCCA also offers US$12,000 for multiple Professional Development scholarships. This scholarship is targeted at industry employees who are taking professional courses at recognized institutions to develop their technical skills and leadership abilities.

Patrica Ecke-Pas Memorial Scholarship
Professional Development Scholarship of US$2,500 to support short course(s) in Reservations, Yield Management, Sales, Marketing or Branding.
Patricia was a strong believer in Caribbean talent and worked for many years on the CHTA Marketing Committee. She mentored young people and was passionate about their potential and contribution to the region. In honor of her positivity, energy & talent as a marketer, this special scholarship has been created by friends of Patricia who have donated in her name.

Johnson & Wales Scholarship
Johnson & Wales Miami Campus will match the CHTAEF award up to US$5,000 per scholarship award - making a total possible of US$10,000 per scholarship. We encourage successful scholars to reapply annually for consideration for further CHTAEF/Johnson & Wales Miami Campus matching funding awards.
Johnson & Wales, Charlotte, NC & Johnson & Wales, Providence Rhode Island Campus will each match the CHTAEF award up to US$5,000 for one scholarship per campus - making a total possible of US$10,000. We encourage successful scholars to reapply annually for consideration for further CHTAEF/Johnson & Wales Charlotte & Providence matching funding awards.

Schiller International University Scholarship
Schiller International University Largo Florida, London UK & Leysin Switzerland Campus will match the CHTAEF tuition award up to US$3,000 for fifteen scholarships - making a total possible of US$6,000 per scholarship plus potential for on-campus employment.
Schiller International University will offer the matching tuition funding for the duration of the 3-year and 2- year degree programs dependent on continuous academic progress and full-time enrollment.
The scholarship is applicable to the Tourism Management courses offered by Schiller and Information Technology with a Tourism/Hospitality focus.
Schiller also offers an on-line option whereby 2 semesters per academic year can be taken on-line and the summer semester at the Florida campus.

University of Memphis Scholarship
Bachelors Business Administration – Hotel & Resort Management - One scholarship of up to US$5,000 in matching funds that will be sustained over 4-years if GPA is maintained, academic goals reached, continuous enrollment, financial need continues and annual CHTAEF report is received in timely fashion.

Florida International University Scholarship
Under-graduate or graduate program in Hospitality and/or Tourism Management.
One scholarship of up to US$2,500 in matching funds that will be sustained over the degree program chosen if GPA is maintained, academic goals reached, continuous enrollment, financial need continues and annual CHTAEF report is received in timely fashion.

In addition to these named Scholarships the Foundation will be offering scholarships for Professional Development Courses, Full Time Academic Courses in Hospitality & Tourism Management and Grants for Teachers in the Tourism Industry ranging between $1,000 and $5,000.
