Joe Murray, CHTA's long-time insurance advisor, can advise a hotelier on coverages as well as the best way to handle a property insurance claim. Smith Orloff & Associates, while providing similar assistance, can furthermore assist a hotelier by assembling their actual detailed claims for building damages,

Liability Insurance
The CHTA has partnered with the CGM Gallagher Group to assist our hotel members in accessing hotel liability coverage. The new policy is A+ rated and backed by Lloyd's of London security. It provides coverage for a variety of risks that come with providing activities and services to guests either directly or through independent suppliers and concessionaires and has a coverage limit of US$100,000,000 for:
- Food and drink poisoning
- Injury from the provision of first aid services
- Water sport and watercraft use which result in injury
- Injury stemming from participating in recreational activities provided by or on behalf of the hotel
- Loss or damage to guest property caused by the hotel
- Valet parking
- Advertising liability
