Alternative membership payment options:
Room exchange program:

The Caribbean Hotel Association offers its current and would-be members several payment options. The most innovative also enhances CHA’s membership value through a new agreement with online travel auction marketplace, Skyauction.com.  Through the new partnership, CHA members may exchange room nights as fulfillment for their membership fees in CHA. The new membership program offers marketing support to a participating Caribbean hotel, through added visibility online at no additional cost. This is particularly beneficial to the smaller independent Caribbean properties, which find it increasingly difficult to compete in the current climate of international travel. Membership in CHA already provides them with the tools to improve their hotel product. The partnership with Skyauction.com enhances the value of their membership with an additional tool for marketing through the internet.

For a hotel interested in this program, Skyauction.com researches the auction value of the hotel’s rooms, using such tools as the hotel’s website, Expedia, Travelocity, and Skyauction.com’s own experience of five years in the industry, to determine the number of room-nights that would be needed to fulfill the hotel’s membership dues with CHA. The hotel would then sign a Skyauction.com agreement for the required number of nights.

Bonus! CHA Members may also use the Room Exchange Program with SkyAuction to pay for registration to CHA events, as well as advertising in CHA's tourism publications by Caribbean Tourism Development Company Media Group (formerly Gold Book Publishing).

Installment dues program:

A also offers an installment dues program that prorates payment of membership dues over a period of time, up to a maximum six months. In addition, the association offers members their option of charge period (either beginning, middle, or end of the month).

This is what some of our most active members have to say about CHA:
"In the highly competitive world of hospitality, it is crucial to stay informed and stay involved. Attending industry events to network with my colleagues and to keep abreast of industry trends has helped me to remain on the cutting edge of change and progress."
- Sir Royston Hopkin, KCMG, Spice Island Beach Resort, Grenada

"The Caribbean Hotel Association is continuing a tradition of reinvention and renewal to meet changing circumstances. This ability to refocus ideas and redirect resources will become even more critical, as we move through the 21st century, which will bring increasing changes, but also unrivaled opportunities. Given the vitality of our membership and the talents, energy, and inventiveness of the staff, I am sure we're on the right track."
- Ralph Taylor, Almond Resorts, Barbados

"The CHA has played - and continues to play - a critical role in the growth of one of the most exciting regions globally. They have been the driving force in promoting sustainable development in the region. The CHA commitment to training and education, both members and employees, has been a huge factor in the continued success of the region. Their renewed focus on education of the communities in which they operate as to the value and contribution of tourism at the local level will serve as a best practice in public sector/private sector cooperation."
