YTB International enters the Caribbean
YTB International, a multilevel marketing organization which now claims more than 135,000 referring travel agents in the U.S., announced it is expanding into the Bahamas, Bermuda and Canada.  YTB Bahamas opened on Jan. 11 while YTB Bermuda and YTB Canada are set for early February, the company said in a press announcement. Derek Avera, YTB's vice president of international business development, said the addition of non-U.S. operations represents a first step in the company's international expansion. "We look forward to adding even more countries to the YTB International family over the next year," Avera said.  (Source: Travel Weekly)

Kahn Travel Communications and Richard Kahn has launched a new website promoting the Caribbean under the banner of www.CaribbeanVacationNews.com. It is strictly a news and information site which then links directly to the destinations and hotels for further information and/or bookings. Kahn would like your news, but asks you to send it only as a “word” document with photos only in JPEG format. Here is a template for you to fill in to make it easy to get listed on the new website...

Kudos: groundbreaking environmental protection agreement reached in Cozumel
Conservation International (CI), Cozumel's Department of Tourism and the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association
witnessed the culmination of their 12-month partnership with
the signing of a groundbreaking conservation agreement by cruise industry leaders representing government, private sector, civil society, and cruise lines as part of the Mesoamerican Reef Tourism Initiative (MARTI).
