Golf Tournament To Benefit Foundation
The return of the popular St Lucia Golf Tournament will take place April 12th at Windjammer Landing Resort in St. Lucia and all proceeds will go to the Caribbean Hotel Association Education Foundation (CHAEF). Tony Bowen, General Manager of the Windjammer Landing Resort, is organizing this second annual charity golf tournament to benefit the CHAEF on Saturday, April 12, 2008. The Tournament will be held at the St. Lucia Golf Club at the Cap Estates. The course is a par 71, plays 6,836 yards and is set within the rolling hills of Cap Estates overlooking both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. The new St. Lucia Golf Club recently opened its new clubhouse in the middle of 2007 with a fully stocked pro shop and the Cap Grill. Rooms are available at the Windjammer Landing Villas Beach Resort for the weekend of the tournament for $100 per night, double occupancy. Cost of the round of golf for the tournament is $100 per person. Included is a cocktail reception on Friday evening, round of golf, lunch, drinks, practice balls and lots of fun. Virgin Holidays will be the major sponsor of the tournament as well as Harbor Linen and a number of local sponsors. CHA sets comprehensive line-up of sessions, speakers for CHTIC 2008
The Caribbean Hotel Association (CHA) has confirmed a number of speakers and panelists for the 12th annual Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Investment Conference (CHTIC), May 6-8, 2008. The event will take place at the modern conference center in the newly-opened Hyatt Regency Trinidad, targeting lenders and those seeking to invest in the Caribbean with informative plenary sessions on the financial aspects of the Caribbean hospitality industry, with an emphasis this year on “Going Green.” The plenary session, The Outlook For The Caribbean, will begin on May 7, featuring expert speakers: Warren Jestin, Senior Vice President & Chief Economist, Scotiabank; Simon J. S. Townend, Partner, KPMG Corporate Finances; David F. Larone, Director, PKF Consulting; and Duane T. Vinson, Vice President, Smith Travel Research. Moderated by James Burba, President, Burba Hotel Network, the panelists will address current forecasts for the economy and hotel industry, and take a special look at the capital markets with a focus on lenders as well as investors and equity.
